You will need a good set of night riding lights on your bike and/or on your helmet.  You will also need warm waterproof clothing that you can comfortably ride in.

Cougar Park Forestry Update

There is a salvage crew is working further out Ken Road but nowhere near the trails yet.
In a couple of weeks they will be felling up the Stub Road by Bedrock Rise and we will have to close the Flintstone area off.
That road will have some metal laid next week so Swaps trucks will be running in and out Ken Road, they’ll be told to drive slowly and look for bikes but be on the lookout when entering/exiting Bedrock and Pebbles.
Fred Flintstone will be closed so nobody flys across the Stub Road in front of a truck. The metaling should only take a day, 2 max.
Following that, approx. 3 weeks from now, they will be felling up the top of Cougar Road between Kahupungapunga and Pokaiwhenua. During that phase we will have to put security on and close the park during the day as trucks will be rolling up and down Cougar Road. That should only be 1 ½ to 2 weeks.
Hancocks will be updating Tokoroa MTB Club as we go.

Please spread the word to all .

Also remember that Southstar trail guys are out there at the moment as well, please keep an eye out for their vehicles.

Hi Guys

Just an up date on the downed trees , these have all been cleared yesterday afternoon thanks to to a couple keen lads , thanks Henry and Quin awesome job much appreciated.

Some scrub bar work was done today on black panther so just be aware there is still some debris around still needs a blow down.
This work will continue further down the track as there was an issue with the scrub bar so the track will need to be finished.

I would like to start winding up the trail team work in the park , we are calling for volunteers to join the team to help in working bees and the never ending job of up keep .
Contact my self pm me or through this page every park user welcome , if you use the park it’s good to give back a few hours a month.

Thanks Craig
