There are many tracks that can be used by all levels wether you are a beginner , intermediate or an experienced rider.

If you would like to join, get in contact with us !

We are sorry to announce that due to the uncertainty around the Covid 19 situation in the North Island, we have decided to postpone the September MNIJS race in Tokoroa to a date in January. For those who have entered already we will be in touch regarding a refund.

Winter Night Rides

Every Monday night starting at 6 pm at the Cougar MTB Park gate the club has organised night rides.  These happen only during the winter evenings (from daylight savings end to daylight saving start).
You will need a good set of night riding lights on your bike and/or on your helmet.  You will also need warm waterproof clothing that you can comfortably ride in.

If you are interested in these very social rides or want to keep up to date on the latest rides, contact us via the online form.

Things are well under way in the planning of the Mid North Island Junior series on Jan 24th in Cougar Park.
As with any event we need a few hands to make the day happen so if you can lend a hand to
- cook a few sausages on the BBQ - 10am til 1pm
- be a marshal on the track 10am til 1pm
- help set up Gazebo 8am for half hour
- dismantle the course and gazebo 1.30pm for half hour
or any other job on the day between 8 am and 130pm then give Brett 0275218180 or Larry 0274881954 a ring or text and put your name next to any of these small jobs. It is a quick fire event and you wont need to be there all day.

Nick Simmonds

Can anyone recommend a good loop to do out here? Coming from Hamilton and riding cougar park for the first time this weekend and I'd like to have my ride partly planned. Happy to ride a grade 4 but most fun for me is grade 3 currently. Cheers! ... See MoreSee Less

Hi Nick, so many options... ride from the carpark and up mountain lion to the jungle junction, go straight thru there onto the old skool tracks, there are 3 descents to choose, danger mouse is good challenging g3, from there ride onto the road and over onto humpty dumpty then head over to the flintstones trails, then head up the old spice track to view our new trails. Go to Trailforks website our trails are fully mapped there.

Some great work by El Presidento Bretto today on Kahupungapunga getting those weeds back off the running line. Great work!!
An aerial spray last week will knock the growth of these on the head but they still need to be cleared so any spare time on your hands over the next little bit.. attack them!!

Hi guys

We have had messages regarding a pair of nesting falcons.

Theses birds can be very aggressive when protecting there nest.

Please take care around the new south star grade 5 cumin quick and ginger cougar.

It’s great to have theses birds in the park please keep your distance and respect them .

That is so awesome. Yay for new babies

Yes please respect them. Leave them alone and be safe

Just a little shout out to all those riding, walking or running out in Cougar : plan on using Jack n Jill and 3 Blind Mice. We need these tracks to be in ship shape condition for Mid North Island Junior series Jan 24.
The grass, foxgloves and weeds have gone balistic. Take 10 or 20 mins out of your ride to pull these plants that are impeding those 2 tracks. No tools needed they pull out easily. If we all clear 25 mtrs of track at a time the whole track will be clear in no time. Many hands make light work.... do your bit for the Club!.
