Every Monday night starting at 6 pm at the Cougar MTB Park gate the club has organised night rides.  These happen only during the winter evenings (from daylight savings end to daylight saving start).
You will need a good set of night riding lights on your bike and/or on your helmet.  You will also need warm waterproof clothing that you can comfortably ride in.

If you are interested in these very social rides or want to keep up to date on the latest rides, contact us via the online form.

will call you. wazza posted regarding this lost wheel.

Eyan said it was there when they finished bluelight yesterday they leaned it up against rail

My apologies for the long post but we are changing track names and we feel it requires an explanation;
Master trail builders Southstar trails have completed a new trail for us, it runs from the access road at the top of the park through the valley, close to that road as it descends, the track then goes under a rock formation and crosses the road into the area where the original Go Go Gadget rolled before the 2018 harvesting, the second area is slightly higher up the ridge from the original Go Go, but it follows to lines and includes some sweeping curves and descends onto the road opposite Humpty Dumpty.
At the same time we inherited a track name from Otago MTB… The infamous Ginger Cougar!!!
The committee debated long and hard on where to place this track and in the end we decided that we didn’t want to orphan the Cougar from the rest of the cats. All of that means we have re-named a track Ginger Cougar and the name of that track, Go Go Gadget, has returned to its spiritual home.

Hopefully the trail apps can keep up.

Makes sense to name the new one go go gadget 👍

Clear as mud 🙂

Awesome to see the Ginger cougar find its new home

Which trail apps do you recommend please? Trail forks (or at least my edition) overlaps the old map with the new so makes navigation a bit tricky! Thanks 🙂

Great to see our Adopted tracks looks so good today.

Flintstones , Bedrock and bam bam / yaba do are awesome well done to all involved.

Also great to see one of Juniors working on the Club sponsored Grade 5 track, these guys have approached the club to gain permission and are well on there way too something great.
With the help and mentoring of Jeff Carter and Scott Taylor from South Star such a great opportunity to learn from the best.

Tokoroa Mountainbike

Some committee members, @Southstar Trails and some juniors who are building a track by Humpty Dumpty had a tour of the new grade 4 and 5 trails that are being built opposite Kahupungapunga. They look awesome and there will be some great advanced riding tracks to compliment our existing Grade 3 goodness.
Funding for this set of trails comes from @Grassroots Trust. The newly completed trail on the other side comes from @Pub Charity Limited, while the other new trail being worked on by Sean Clarke is being funded by @South Waikato District Council.
So much going on.. Summer at Cougar Park will be awesome. Get out there and use these trails ride, run, walk we accept all community members in the park.
Our membership is up for renewal in September If you want to join our club head to tokoroamountainbikeclub.co.nz/become-a-member/register/

Thank you for all your amazing work as a club. The trails have to be so e of the best around.🤙

You guys are doing a brilliant job here at Cougar Park. Went for a blast around in the dark last night and your new trails were a highlight. Freaken awesome

Hi all
I would like to welcome and thank all the adoptees that have volunteered to look after a track.
As most of you will know spring is growing season this is when your track is going to need your love.Blackberry and ferns will start to shoot and reduce the track area this can cause Premature rutting from heavy breaking when riders are not being able ride the full track.

Keeping your track clear of brush is key to reducing your work load , cut it back and blow it off.

If help is required the working bs can get you on track please ask if your swamped.

There has been a heap of comments on how good our tracks are let’s keep this going and we’ll done to you all.

Get the Mahi done now so we all can ride through summer.

Once again thanks thanks for all the effort and time.

Let’s see some post of your work so can promote your track.

Cheers Craig Evans , Trail crew

This week I managed to get to the top of Bedrock, only took me a month! Maintenance will be much easier from now. But yes lots of pesky shoots arriving in the middle of the track that I have been pulling out.

Ok yup I really gotta get onto this
